A Poem by ShelbyLanai

Things you say to me, aren't always so nice.
You tell me they are joke, but jokes shouldn't hurt this way.
I wish that there was some way to make this easy.
But if there was, then it wouldn't be worth trying.
Things between you and I, fall apart to often.
When we fight, I feel the trust falling away.

When the fights seem endless, I give into what you say.
Things aren't the same.
I think that are many similarities between us, but also many differences.
They separate us, like putting a wedge between two wooden blocks.
Striking and splitting.
Love isn't something that we can mess around with, the same goes for a heart.

A heart, something meant to be kept safe.
Not meant to be played with.
I learned to forgive and forget from you.
But why can't you follow your own life lessons?
I also learned how yo protect my feelings.
You can't break life-long bonds.

I am changing, it's you who isn't.
Things aren't the same anymore.
I miss the old you, the one who wasn't obsessed with sex.
When we used to kiss, it was something new each time.
Now it's the same, it doesn't make me blush.
My heart doesn't beat like it used to.

I'm not leaving you.
I'm not saying goodbye.
I'm just leaving you alone, like you wanted.
