I feel sad

For my children

And unborn grandchildren

And all the people I love

 

I feel sad

For all the people who do not understand

And for all the people who do

 

I feel sad

For my cyber friends I may never meet

And for love that will never be realized

 

I feel sad

For every mean word I may have ever said

And for those to whom I said it.

 

I feel sad

For animals in shelters that no one wants

And for those I cannot save

 

I feel sad

That the ideals of peace and love I cherished in the 60s

Will never come to pass

 

I feel sad

That there is so much hate and violence

And for all the men who ever tried to change that

 

I feel sad

For the world

I share your sadness, especially for my child and grandchildren. We live in uncaring times lacking in compassion where money seems to be the only thing which talks. There is much to feel sad for and your words resonate.

Yes, the state of the world right now is something to be sad about. For the wars, for the animals, for the environment. We marched for these and other causes way back when and thought we could change the world, but it did not happen. I wonder if it ever will. We can only hope our grandchildren will see peace in their lifetimes. Well written. Lydi**

We had such high hopes back in the day...passionate about our ideology. And it is also sad that our passion was not strong enough to bring about change.

i was thinking today that perhaps the reason i have not posted much lately is because of my sadness, and by confronting it head-on like this, i might be able to break the spell.
