Water's EdgeA Poem by Ruben Wainui
Watched the moon from water's edge
Where the waves they laid to rest In pools of moonlight on the shore Shining for the coming dawn The roads we built across the land Had faded in the changing sands Beneath the tide so pure and cold We dreamt until our dreams grew old And when the fire of our minds Had dulled and burnt right through our time We rose and staggered up the beach Just beyond the ocean's reach
