The Final Stand

The world went crashing down
And I'm crushed underneath it
I hit the ground so hard 
That I don't have the ability
To lift myself up

So instead I lay there by myself
But my heart's still beating 
And you do nothing 
But keep watching my bleeding heart

You walk around with your friend
And saw me coming to my end
You don't even come over to me
You don't even really see

But your friend that's been there all along
Comes to help me stand strong
So you leave us that day
And haunt you those words that you never say

So now your skies turn gray
As you end that day
The day I fell through your arms 
Never to return again
And so this is my final stand

I loved it, that's what I think. A very nice write. very descriptive. almost a story poem. (see my "I'll Not Throw In The Towel (lyrics)" for an example of a story poem). I just love the position of strength you write this from. "I am woman hear me roar" kind of a thing. You are not a victim in this, and you are not angry in this either. I see a lot of victim and anger poems on WC and I yearn for this type of write. So thank you for that.
