Burning And Burning

A poem I wrote for a prompt

Burning and burning
Words from the past sent up in smoke
Bringing forth a lustful aroma unto the night
Glowing embers kissed the sky
scorching the horizon.
Burning and burning
Heating sorrow and anger into hate The fire rippled through out my whole body darkening my heart as black as coal
My soul withered away in front of
the open flame
Burning and burning
