a page of the fallen

a page of the fallen

A Poem by Ryan Riley
"

This is a writing piece I had for a book idea....not sure if I'll ever finish writing it, so might just end up as just a piece of writing. Might be doing more work on this piece

"
Standing alone quietly,
I hear the cries of sorrow fill the air.
A light glows heavily upon my face,
Stinging my eyes and burning the light out of them.
My tears turn dark as they splash onto ground.
Cold chills flow steady through my spine causing the hair on my neck to stand tall.
I feel my legs grow weak, sending me crashing down upon my knees.
I hang my head in shame.
My name is called,
A trial for my sins.
Cast out the wicked!
Forsake the damned!
The judgment is given.
My body begins to burn as my soul dies.
Torn away from my home,
I am cast out into the the unknown.
No longer able to soar high.
I say burn this page,
A page of the fallen

Wow the Imagery in this poem is fantastic I could feel the chills and could practically see the man falling to his Knees. I love you poetry Ryan. This piece is so dark and you can feel the pain of the judgment and being cast aside.
