Footprints in the Sand

Two sets of footprints in the sand,

then suddenly one.

You left me alone,

cast out on the shore.

Alone and unguided, I blindly

searched for the path.

I walked on glass and rocks,

and fell a few times,

but found the strength to

carry on.

Then I realized that by the end,

I was never alone.

A single set of footsteps in the sand 

and now it is clear, 

you did not abandon me,

you just carried me here.
