The Sun

The Sun

A Poem by Shygirl

Oh shining globe, with your golden tendrils of warmth, do we give you justice?
Oh fiery orb, whose light brightens our world, whom we rely on, are you humble?
Do you mind our endless circle around you?

In the infinite vacuum where you reside, are you lonely?
Do you miss being praised by the Mayans and Aztecs, being the center of life when Earth was primitive,
Do you even notice the planets that revolve around you?

Oh human people, with your worldly feuds, do you ever look up and see.
See the burning lamp lighting up the infinite darkness.
Look up, humans, look up and see the worlds beyond you and me
