Do not Give Me Flowers

Do not Give Me Flowers

A Poem by Rozetta

Do not give me flowers

My hands are too rough,

The petals, too soft.

Do not give me flowers.

Capped is my vase,

Sealed, rusty, old.

Do not give me flowers.

Functionless they are,

Blind to beauty I’ve gone.

Do not give me flowers.

Too fast they whither,

Too many I’ve thrown.

Do not give me flowers.

Afraid of touching them I am,

Afraid of touching them I am.
