Anniversary

Anniversary

A Poem by Roy Wang
"

I wrote this in preparation for an anniversary that I never got to celebrate.

"
A wise man once said that life is not a game
If so, why are there copywrites to saying that name?
If companies like hasbro can pilfer things of nature
Then who are we to say what we live for today?
But either way,
I was born to make a stand.
The living soul inside of me is pushing for demands.
The justice of a man is not to let him be broken,
But a state of which we declare all throughout the land.
Lets break down a couple factions and delve a little deeper.
The trident of a spirit is not three pronged whole.
It actually doesn’t have any tips at all.
It serves as a weapon for one man’s soul.
The weapon can mended into any shape or form
It all depends on what he cares for the most,
For a seventeen year old boy that could live in a dorm,
It’s the feeling of being wanted by somebody or a host.
Friendship is alive in every single one of us,
We have to trust the good that lies inside.
Not a person in history has been born evil,
But the way he lives can turn a Jekyl into Hide.
I’m not saying that there’s a dark side to me,
I just think there’s a better person that I can strive to be.
Like when Nick Halsey had lost everything,
He sold all of his “crap”, and it finally set him free.
He held a yard sale that he never wanted to go through with.
But the end result was the cleanup of his life’s debris.
See, here’s what I’m trying to say,
You’re my yard sale that sells my life’s crap away.
You’re the trident that guards my spirit,
And the most important friendship that I have today.
The silver lining is the time we take for finding,
The sacrifice we make for each other’s shared timing.
And every single second of your company is vital.
Its like religion, I’m the student, you’re the bible.
And I thank you for turning me over,
You changed a sad kid into a four leaf clover.
And I thank you for putting up with my insecurities
A problem I seem to have so frequently.
A wise man once said that life is not a game.
Well he was right because hasbro can’t put me to shame.
No one can ever put me down, or make me feel “crappy”.
Not as long as you’re around to keep me happy.
