The kid has a question
Of course you do
How may I help?

Homework is done
It's finally time
To cuddle with pages
That are mine all mine

Home again
And ready to start
My sweet little dog
Tore the house apart

Cleaning is done
Everything in check
Dinner time?

Family is fed
Dishes are done
I think I've made it
I've finally won

I pick up the pages
That haunt and excite me
Caress the cover
And wonder what will be

I find my cozy place
And melt into my zone
Open the script
With a soft little moan

The story continues
With laughter and tears
I'm filled with joy
Like I've waited for years

My world goes away
Drowning in my mind
To the other place

It's good that you have a passion for reading.
Reading is a good way to learn many things
and also improve on our vocabulary, as writers.
And as we all know knowledge is power.

I like the progressive flow, simple yet effective rhymes
and fitting refrain.

Aw, I love this. I can totally relate. The way you wrote it, with spunkiness and crispness was awesome. I love the structure and rhyme as well. So many people think they can just throw words down on and page and call it a poem. This is really well done. The repetition works beautifully! Congrats on a great write!

Thanks! I got done reading th "fifty shades" trilogy a couple weeks ago, and it's one of those things you can't put down, and would miss out on a trip to the moon just to keep reading! I started a new book recently, that caught me in the same way... (my favorite kind).. And I noticed that whatever I'm doing, I wished the world would just stop, so I could get back to my story. Maybe I'm a bit obsessive, or maybe I just need to dip out of my mine reality for awhile.. Either way, I love reading, and this poem is totally true of ME. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and found it relatable. =)
