::I Will Not Be Defined::

::I Will Not Be Defined::

A Poem by Jeanette

The kids, they laugh

They tease and taunt

"You look dirty,

did you brush your hair?"

- Say what you want,

- I don't care.

I will not be defined

The kids, they laugh

They snicker and point

"Look at her clothes.

and all of those tears."

- Say what you want,

- I don't care.

I will not be defined

The kids, they laugh

They gawk and sneer

"She's so fat,

she's beyond repair."

- Say what you want,

- I don't care

I will not be defined

The kids, they laugh

They judge and they hate

"She's plain and boring,

she's got no flare."

- Say what you want,

- I don't care

I will not be defined

My peers, they talk

They pity with sorrow

"She so sad,

and looks so scared."

- Say what you want,

- I don't care

I will not be defined

The people, they see

They reach out at the end

"Save that girl,

she's special and rare."

- Too little, too late,

- You never cared

I WILL NOT BE DEFINED

Really good. Interesting how you grew "I will not be defined", like this person was getting stronger with each taunt or mistreatment. Very clever. Good job.
