A Poem by Jeanette

Fire burns
But do know this
Charred ashes
The wind they kiss

When all is lost
There's nothing left
You feel helpless
The hell of theft

When you think it's over
What's done is done
A weight on your shoulders
That weighs a ton

Is lifted as simply
As a pillow of air
Floating abroad
To everywhere

The substance has changed
No longer a solid
Though it is painful
Like wounds being salted

Nothing has ended
Or truly gone away
It's changed and moved
To a secret hideaway

In your mind
Are the memories left
Not tiny or small
Or even compressed

They are vivid and real
Permanantly marked
Within the creases
Remains that spark

Tangible? No..
But clear as a bell
Picture perfect
Inside they dwell
