Gingko Biloba

Gingko Biloba

A Poem by noddingoff

Crunch of leaves that fell and dried

Clink of flint, soul starts to climb

Reek of reefer in

An old gingko asks me why

I answer with my head down

Blind, glossy flies in my eyes

Half the reason I get so high

Is living in my mind, the other half

Well it's not your business, who I

Decide to regretfully creep inside

Into a soul tie

Climbing starts to swirl

Lure in a spiral of self-doubt

Hills, steep, poisonous denial

Killing me softly, I think I’ll

Stay here for a while

It's like coffee and a cigarette

With your first crush on dial

Nothing else to say, let me

Pull out another file

Standing in admiration for an ancient beauty, a beauty that existed before us and will grow beyond us, does allow one's mind to be free of the binding chains of societal judgment and brings peace to one's mind, for both the better or worse.
To view the work with a focus on the human element is quite a tragic tale per se, but from the angle of nature viewing, I understand the sentiments of how the uncommon scenery may attract and arouse the deepest and most intimate thoughts and desires in a person.
Overall, a great work to read, author noddingoff. Thank you for sharing your work.
