WHAT FAITH CAN DOA Poem by Roxanne Arden FrostSo what happens when all hope dies? Faith finds a way. She always does. When the night is lonely, dark and bleak And everything is still As still as death and cold as stone No compassion, no goodwill And you may think that all the world Has come to a stop for you You will stand and stare with wonder At what faith can do When you have come to the edge Of all you’ve ever known And you close your eyes and jump off the cliff Right into the unknown Just hold your breath and take your leap And only two things you may find You’ll land on fresh grass under your feet Or you will be taught to fly When you sit for days and months and years Waiting for a special call When everybody’s making it big While you’re a flower on the wall Faith isn’t faith until It’s all you’re holding on to And that is when you stop and wonder At what faith can do
When you have come to the edge Of all you’ve ever known And you close your eyes and jump off the cliff Right into the unknown Just hold your breath and take your leap And only two things you may find You’ll land on fresh grass under your feet Or you will be taught to fly © 2011 Roxanne Arden Frost |
