The last walk!

The last walk!

A Poem by Rounak Jain
"

On someone I miss the most.

"

Insomniac, I amble on the terrace

indignant over your disappearance.

To be with you, I yearn to gods

to grant me another chance.

Helpless, I close my eyes

to arrest my tears inside.

But your memories start overflowing

causing an emotional high tide.

Smiling, I halt at my favourite memory.

That last night we walked hand in hand.

Thinking how we would live happily ever after

and erase all troubles with a magic wand.

Dilapidated, I stare at the moon.

The only witness of our times.

And I ask the moon yet again,

was that our last laugh?

was that our last walk?

I will not go into the technical deyltails here. But i must say your words flow with depth of emotion.Thefeelings it evokes in the reader is poignant.I always bless a couple. I never envy them. but this kinda heartbreak i will not even want my enemy to go through it.Ots the second work of yours i have read. Here also emotions rule.

you are welcome...........:) :)
There is a definete painful and sad vibe this got going. One which brings a sad smile.
Like Stonz P reviewed it's either gives a picture of lost love in whatever the composition it might be in. Hope you got through. This has a nice rhythm drawing in. Good write!

You're welcome :)
Technically, the flow is good and the meter and rhyme is fine too.. Imagery is invoked in the mind upon reading too..

I was in two minds upon finishing it..

First, the love angle where the beloved has left for some reason... that interpretation I found weak as you always have a chance with somebody else or to accept the harsh reality.. but...

Second, the 'lost' love angle where the beloved is lost altogether... there, I read it again and the pain reached out.. Here too, there is that chance with somebody else or the acceptance but wayyy too hard.. there is a huge difference with the first interpretation from this perspective..

I'd like to go with the second one in order for the emotions to reach out to me, at least.
This is a good write..
