A Poem by RoughWaterJohn
"

A poem about the end of life, and those that help to ease

"

Hopes and dreams I cast afloat, and pray that they may find
A gentle soul in hour of need, a gift of wishes kind
Gentle seas bring answers to, a friend in dire need
Tho ne’er met, brothers be, who hear but also heed

Pain I feel from distant soul, so succor do I send
To ease the hopes and dreams of one, who’s life has neared its end
Youth I be yet aged I see, the life that dwindles down
That burdened path that leads to death, their soul wears tearful frown

Joy I send, and wonder too, a child’s toy chest of dreams
Filled with birds and singing trees, frivolous it seems
But breath there be for those in need, who fear the end is near

Tho’ trumpets sound and gates swing wide, it’s whispers that they hear

Of gentle streams and childhood dreams, their heart no longer fears
The husk may fall but spirits rise, to play within bright fields
A child again whose dreams surprise, death doth drop its shields
