Devious

Devious

A Poem by Maleficent
"

Tale of a connection built with the most peculiar person.

"
Since my enchantment, I've yet to collect the pieces
Holding the hollow of my chest and scrambling on the floor
My scattered pieces unfound, stolen by the likes of you
Crafty and clever and so bemused
Watching as I chase after you

Hopping between clouds, blue skies ring with melody of your cheer
Sounding louder and sounding closer the more you tinker my path
The closer that I reach you, the farther you jump
Never disappearing beyond the eye
But boyishly grinning as I lose my step
And joining by my side as we fall from the sky

A descent that continues beyond, two people falling as one before starfall
Bleeding a bright and royal red into the skyline, of my hollow that you had stolen
Pieces of me that you had kept, safely pressed in between a body of love
I felt their warmth rekindle at your touch, as we finally hit the ground

It is soft, and calm
You who I had landed on
The devious beauty behind it all
Extending pieces of yourself, holding your gentle heart above my tilted crown
With sparkling eyes, you're suddenly closer to me, beneath this -- our mistletoe
And I succumb to your games again,
so charmed, and so lost in adoration
I'm falling for your tricks, playful and loving sabotage endearing me at its core
Them, an angel with a spiked tail and tiny devil horns
