Showman

Showman

A Poem by Maleficent
"

About the difficulty of being open with oneself.

"
A curtain veiled before thine spirit
Locks the currents of the inner man
Despite the cheers of the crowd
The frontrunner won't begin the show, until destiny so demands

Encore, encore! They say
But does the showman show himself?
No he dost not. The crowd sits down
A performance yet unbegun and still they scream
Encore, encore! Oh, won't it stop before it begins?

To a visage of the arts, and a mirage of culture
This play sha'ant strike the hearts of men
Only to tear them apart
And to close the curtains, yet again
