A Poem by Ross Davison

“Hmmm………..
well….
it’s complicated.”

looking into the eyes, the drift down to the floor,
slow blink,
breath inhale
taken
in
5,…6,…7,…8,….
the chimes from the
near by
church,
through the open window,
and she’s smiling.

flutter
the wings
pigeon multi-flap
from the spider
on the sill,
and she breathes with
pungent animosity,
the sarcasm spitting
the flesh tones un a
bashed,
and tainted disbelief,
the spinning lids
roll the trust off the edge and into
the gutter.

i listen for the moment, on the shallow puddle,
the fish gasp writhe,
for the guard to drop,
for
the
gate
to
open.

to reveal the intricate,

to let loose the complicated,
onto the implicated.

Really f*****g cool.

I enjoyed the heck out of this poem. You caught that moment right before a betrayal perfectly. Good show.
