Big Smile

Big Smile

A Poem by Ross Davison

“Blue.           Daddy’s Blue….

                Orange…….                       yellow.”

                       with a giggle

“Oh,       you meant the light on daddy’s face………………….from the T.V.”

“Yes.
                  Blue…..                        Yellow.”

“O.k.        o.k.                                 I Love You.
                                    Now go to sleep.”

“Blue.”

“Me Me.”

breath

touch my chin and cheek

“Red.”

  laughing          “Sleep!”

“Blue.”

Kiss nose

“Me Me.”            big smile

“Orange.”

This is really touching. It is photorealism in poetry as well, you can visualize the children and the light on the father's face, and hear them in 3-d sound.

this was great. i wanted more, though. reminded me of sleepovers, silly things we thought were hilarious and parents from the other room screaming to be quiet and go to bed. classic.
