will you?

will you?

A Poem by Ross Davison

even when
they’re chewing
my spewed hundred
foot intestines
vulture pick peck
and oozing the
dark puddle floor

i won’t say i told you so.
i won’t say i didn’t get it.
i won’t say i need you so.
i won’t say you were wrong.
i won’t say i can’t live without you.
i won’t say whatever you want.
i won’t say the things i should.
i won’t say if this is about you.
i won’t expect a thing.
i won’t wait for you.
i won’t compromise.

even when it doesn’t matter anymore.
notes found wrapped
in cloth pile dust
the tragedy
as old as wine.

i won’t tell you how much

it matters to me

i wasn’t the one

AHHH... This is perfection, so raw, so simple, so complex, and so damn honest. I love that irony of this poem!
