flashesA Poem by Ross Davison
fire
works
in your favor
looking to the sky
you twist above me
dress ripple the wind,
bare neck
our fingers clasp
the
slow corroding melt
of pulling you down to the blanket,
into my absorb.
your tint contrasts
my cold hands, white as palms,
so rough absorb your
tan thighs, warming blankets of down,
the pillow slips,
under hips and elbows hair rest,
until he returns
with shells in held high, smiling
the wave triumphant,
and we make pretend,
this public beach,
could hide,
our love.
a trick of the eye,
in firework
flash.
