glowA Poem by Ross Davison
glow
slow sipping the
sea
wander the flickering
leaves through sun
beam shades
the picnic shore smile
in kodachrome tints of afternoons
as a child
big eyed the cicadas sing
grasshopper hunting
in the tall grass with
friends sandals
the mud rises through
the toes
till
mom calls us back to the
table
for hot dogs
and
go
inside
to wash your hands
while
Bar B Q
fills
the charcoal
soul
and
leave the dirt
under my nails.
