loosing

loosing

A Poem by Ross Davison

hol low
again.

i’m
home (hol low)
again.

this
house is

empty
hol low, cool, walls, their echo
rattles my ribs
shaking
my throat
collapse(d),
onto the couch.

all the days
(worries),
left here,
crying,
loosing your
presence,
hurt missing,
your fill me up smile,
is
leaving
me
hol low

I love how you play with a word like it is a puzzle piece. I am a sucker for that sort of thing, but it is your style and I revel in writers who have their own. It tells you a lot about their personality. :> This one is my favorite:

cry(rain)ing

I would like to hear you read this. When I read it, hol low becomes how low, and I'm wondering if this is what you meant for it to sound like. If it is... that's really quite clever.

I like the rhythm (for lack of a better word) of the last stanza. It reminds me of drifting to a stop on a slippery driveway.

I very much like your style (always have).
