Prolouge

  A boy and a girl ran into a cave, taking cover from a storm. They rounded the bend and there stood a witch.

             The witch stared curiously at the boy and said with a crooked cackle “This will help you with your problem boy,” then she waved her staff at him. An odd but bright glow enveloped him and then softly faded away, leaving the cave eerily dark after the sudden radiance of light.

 “What do you mean, what did you do?” the boy asked, confused.

 “I put a spell on you boy.” The witch said.

By this time, the girl had become afraid. “Come on, let’s get out of here.” She said and fled the cave.

The boy glanced back toward the witch, but she was gone. He turned to follow the girl, but soon as he stepped out of the cave he turned into a dinosaur.

This is a good opening to a story.

I think you need to add a little more description to your writing. There is plenty of time when you write to tell the reader what is going on so there is no need to hurry on to the next big idea.

So I would like to know:
Where the cave is
Who the children are
What the witch looks like
and most of all how they feel.

But that said an interesting opening
