Prologue

Prologue

A Chapter by rosieposie

In a far away land, long, long ago, an angel alighted from heaven. Undeterred by the boy’s dark demeanor, the angel forewarned him of a coming doom. The boy woke with a start and pondered what the angel had said.

Why did he tell me? He thought. He had been tainted by a demon, or so he was told. He was a boy and a monster; all cowered in sight of him. Why did God want me to know, what could a monster do about it? He thought, desperately confused.

Over the years the dream faded from the memory of the boy and he became a young man, traveling the world in disguise. His hair, fair in color, was long enough to cover one eye, around which were greenish scales, a long sleeve jacket to hide his leathery wings and scaly arms, and gloves to conceal his claws.  He wore a scarf to hide the scales on his neck.

The boy never stayed in one place for very long, in the fear that someone would discover him. He had left his tribe and parents and had only one friend, Avark.

Avark was not afraid of him; he was his childhood friend and traveling companion. They went from town to town together staying in each from a few weeks to a month or down to only a few days, depending on how much they liked the town.

During this time, a dark and ominous fog began to settle over the land reminding Flynn of his long forgotten dream.

Hello Rosieposie,

Very interesting prologue and concept.

I think it could go as it is, or if you wanted, you could expand it so the reader witnessed the dream. I do think showing the boy as an outcast would be very powerful and maybe we could see the friend defending him.

Then you could start the next chapter with them older and maybe being chased from a town.

Hopefully I'll see the first chapter soon. I love fantasy and this looks like my type of story.
