The Plains

The Plains

A Poem by Rosie Greens
"

Poem speaking about the plains of Texas and climate change.

"

The plains are never plain

Blue open sky with flicks of feathers floating

Pop of colors, springs of life

Muted calls of prairie dogs in the canyon deep

Strangled by greed of humanity

The green faded into brown

Thin transparent wrapper wrapped around nature’s throat

Bring destruction and death with the thunderous rumble of automobiles

Yes, progress, is it really progress?
I am reminded of my father with this poem.
In his youth there were still many horse and buggies...
the automobile was not that many years old.
nice write, Rosie,
j.
