romulus and remus

romulus and remus

A Poem by rosieect

Rome is built atop

Countless civilisations

A boneyard of people who lived and loved and died

Stacked up to the ceiling

On top of old ruins

They build anew

From every failure there is a new beginning

A cycle of rebirth

I call to myself to be like Rome

When one great civilisation cracks and crumbles

Another one takes its place

Smoothly and serenely

Rome is a city of ruins

And maybe I am too

Each time one wall falls

It is patched up and used again

Life begun on battlegrounds
