Sorrow of SeparationA Poem by Rosie Brooklin
After two Steel Reserves and a Black and Mild,
Love is all I feel, but only for a while For I know not what the future holds; Tomorrow, will my heart be whole? You need to serve your country. That much I understand, but when the nights are cold and I grow old, who will hold my hand? You sit only a room away without single care, and yet I miss you with all my soul and my heart says to beware. I must support you, as I said I would, since I am your loving wife, but I still can not put into words how to end this strife. Heartfelt letters from far away simply can’t compare To the warmth and comfort of you being near. Please do not forget me, amongst the pain of war. Please come home, I beg of you, so I can live once more. © 2018 Rosie BrooklinAuthor's Note
