Maybe we can meet again someday. Perhaps it won't be in the hills of Kentucky or in the heart of Tennessee, where we were meant to be. Instead, we will rendezvous in the celestial corners of my mind and in the deepest chambers of my heart. They say that you were a mistake, an obsession without purpose, yet I know that we were soul mates. They say that your head holds not a single thought of me, but I know you better than they do. I know that your callous ways are a disguise for your heart of gold, because you don't want it to be stolen; thieves are common where you are, since you fall in love so easily. So you wear your hide of leather, armed with cold eyes, thinking that they will mask your weakness, when really they hide your strength. The way I know without a doubt that we were bound for forever is because I love you for both who you are, and who you want to be. I ardently adore your soft truths and your desire to save the weak but equally desire your silent, deadly disguise. You never said you loved me back but, of course, you never would. You couldn't protect me if you had. We were falling so quickly that you had to let me go, because love isn't what you want; stability is your stagnant need. With me, your heart was a game of Jenga in an earthquake and a seashell in a flood. You couldn't bear not only my pain, but also my love, so goodbye for now. I love you.
