MemoriesA Poem by FaffyIll miss them..
I wish we could've slowed down,
Made this dance less fast, Now time is short, And the music won't last. The time draws near, When we must part, And I'm getting all chocked up, Because it was only the start. swaying from left to right, Making it up as we go along, Laughing in all the childish delight, And forgetting about the song. I step on your foot, You trod on mine, "To hell with this!" We say, Dancing is for the old and the affines And is over rated anyway! From the backdoor, We run out of the hall, While stealing all the rum, Laughing and shouting, "Let's have a ball!" Everyone looking at us weirdly, We chased through town, Just f****n' s**t up, But hey! A few bottles of rum, would turn the world upside down! Through the alley ways, Through the bars, And wineries we played, Singing and dancing, Utter bliss, In so many ways. It was getting late, It was almost midnight, And the moon was peaking out, From behind the mid summers clouds; With a smile full of delight. We walked over to the single tree, In the arbour, And laid beneath the rustle of the leaves, The stars and the full moon. We talk and talk, Sharing stories of ourselves, Till we slowly fall asleep, Under the lap of the night And the Lonely little elves I woke the next morning, With a headache, and the smell of morning dew, I smiled and looked to mourning, That you were no longer here, when the sky turned opaque, It was all so impromptu. what we had, was never a race, Sadly we couldn't make it slower , But we still savoured the last tune Before our song was over. © 2013 FaffyAuthor's Note
