Dear Fox.

Dear Fox.

A Poem by Eirinn

Dear Fox.
Today I found you
Abandoned in the woods.

The road stretched far,
Far from your home
And I tried
I wanted to hold you
And never let you go.

Do you know you are frail?

Your bones, dear boy,
they are brittle.
But I love,
no, I do adore them.
Those bones of yours.
I can see them,
protruding, your rib cage full
but hollow.

Just like your dreams.

I knit you a red scarf today.
I do so hope you wear it.
To cover up the rough patches.

I have gone for now.
Gone from the woods and far
from the snow.

Do write.

Or call.

Howl.
