mother v child

mother v child

A Poem by rosemary keogh

I was young with not a worry in my world.

life was amazing, i was as free as a bird.

friends were many, life was plenty and

although i had nothing, my life was not empty.

You came along, all one by one.

It was a task, i was so young.

I made mistakes, oh i made plenty.

Regrets i have, but just a few.

I made you all clean. I made you fold your own clothes.

Had you's peeling spuds from 10 years old.

Washing dishes, cleaning kitchens. When you's

went out to play the other went with ya's.

We had our problem, we disagreed,

but we sorted it quick and both learned

to believe, for repect to be taking, its got to be giving

for a mother and child, its was part of our living.

I gave you all skills, to stand alone,

become independent, when you have grown.

One day you will look back and you shall see.

It was'nt as bad as you's made it beleive.
