I perish

I live in agony

If I cannot learn the pronunciation

What is a soft mutation?
Why do “b”s turn into “v”s?

How does one pronounce the “r”s?

Are there any prepositions?

Stressing the first syllable

In a two syllable word

All the consonants and vowels

Swimming in my head

A as in Father

E as in Were

I as in Machine

O as in For

U as in brute

And then comes Y

The one I don't get

Does it make “iu” or “ew”

Y as in the French word “lune”

I can't read the table

For the consonants

I decide to skip it

And find myself completely lost

I spend all day

All this trouble

Over pronunciation

Not even at the best part

This is why humans

Should not try to learn

The high

The noble language

They'll get tongue-tied I tell you

There's no one to teach them

They'll just have to stumble

Stumble through, like I did

So the day wears on

Soon I feel brain-dead

I want to give up

But something keeps me going

I repeat the sounds

Repeat the phrases

Over and over

And over again

My clumsy tongue

Won't glide over

The smooth syllables

So I do it again

And again and again

Oh, this learning!

I want to come back

But my head is clouded

So I put my head down

And close my eyes

I burn

I perish

I live in agony

Something that spiraled out of my head after a heated session of Sindarin Grammar. Without a teacher, since all elves withdrew from earth a LOOOONNNNG time ago.
