The best with words

Yet here they are

Breaking free

Not an Ode to Joy

But an Ode to Love

Yes, here it is

An ode to you

I raise the glass

Of love's sweet honey

Of fairytale romance

And drink to you

To love consuming and despairing

To love gentle and sweet

To love fierce and passionate

To love lonely and far

To love ethereal and haunting

To love redeeming and hopeful

To love young and fresh

To love ancient and lasting

To love lost and rejected

To love found and accepted

To love eternal and true

To love unconditional and selfless

To love!

It is to love I drink!

To love in all its perfection

To love in all its flaw

To love I do drink

The soft, gentle mist

That infiltrates our hearts

And clouds our heads to sense

To love I do drink

To its sweet imperfection

To its painful unpredictability

To its various twists and turns

To love is to live

And to live without love

Is gruesome torture

Much worse than death

So live life freely

Allow the heart to roam

To dream and to hope

Take a chance and live a little

Who knows what's in store?

Perhaps you will find

A treasure

Behind the door of love
