I Sing For YouA Poem by Rose of GondorI sing for you And you alone I’m no one special And there’s no reason to listen Maybe I don’t always have an audience But I sing anyways I sing for you And you alone Maybe no one’s listening Maybe no one cares Maybe you don’t care Maybe you’re not even there Maybe I never told you about The longing in my heart The longing to be A part of your fairytales But I don’t belong And all I could do Is to stare into the horizon Trying to catch a glimpse Of the beauty and fantasy Of your world All I could do Was to sing To try to find Some comfort in the strange Ethereal song That haunts me still Your lullaby Somehow I can’t convince myself Even though I know that you aren’t real That you’re just a shadow From a half-remembered dream Every time I seem to have found you A glimpse, a whisper But never have I found all of you And my hopes shatter I die each time I sing for you And you alone Somehow you're alive With me When my voice takes flight I hear you I see your story Unfold once again in my mind Reminding me painfully of The fantasy that I could never be And yet I am joyous Because When I sing Every fiber of my soul I give to you And no one else © 2011 Rose of GondorAuthor's Note
