I close the door

Forget the colorful world
I’d just seen

Forget my impossible dreams

My destiny is not here

Fate tears me away

Although I wish to stay

This is my duty

I close the door

Of this beautiful possibility

Knowing that all of this is not for me

My path is written out

Before me

Clear as day

And I must not stray

I know it is for the greater good

But I cannot bear to leave

This fading fantasy

Rain falls

The gloom settles in

The sky is no longer blue

I close the door

Step back from my false reality

And that alluring temptation

The dreams of a better world

I must leave behind

Though my heart may well regret

This decision forevermore

For only will I do right

Another one of these "duty means doing the things you need to do even if you know you'll regret it" things. I don't know what is wrong with me.
