Backstage

Backstage

A Poem by Rose of Gondor

A great flurry

Could be heard and seen

As men and women

Hurry

Trying to find their costumes

Their props

Or trying to remember their lines

Backstage

The rustling of skirts

The clanging of metal

The sound of chatter

Backstage

Someone shushes

The chatter

As the audience files in

The curtain hides

The preparing actors

From the burning gazes

Of the audience

As they did their last minute

Makeup

Or checked their lines

Backstage

And then with that final whisper

Of a prayer

The curtains are drawn

The lights are blinding

And then all the work

Backstage

Could be seen

As the story is told

And all the work

Backstage

Paid off

As far as the eye can see

Backstage

The magical atmosphere of backstage, where the audience can only imagine what goes on...! Good effort. I like it.

Encore! Encore! Yeah, That basically says everything I've seen backstage :) great poem i love how you keep it simple instead of having to explain the details because it showed the rush of actually being backstage! Awesome!
