As the World Falls Down

The world is spinning around me

Suddenly everything’s out of control

I try to remember

My name

Try to keep cool

Try to hold on to

All there is left

As the world falls down

 

I try to think

Of my family and friends

Try to believe

That one day all will be well again

As the world falls down

 

I try to ignore

The shaking destruction

The ruins that had become my home

Try to remember the old times

The flowers in the meadow

The trees in the park

Try to believe in God

To believe all will be

Restored to peace

In some sunny, future day

 

But I know there’s nothing I can do

Right now

As the world falls down
