![]() Scarborough FairA Poem by Rose of Gondor![]() Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme...remember me to one who lives there, she once was a true love of mine.![]() Art thou going to Scarborough Fair To stake thy claim of the silver chair? From rosemary and parsley take The power and glory of magic made And to be thy gold and silver crown A wreath of sage to bind thy brow For never were thee a slave of love But a fallen faery from above And when thy heart is as pure as thyme Ancient magic from the end of time For within darkness, forth the light And from the day thou drawst the night Purest water, tallest tree An acre between the sand and sea To take from thy truest love Tears of heaven, of a mourning dove And from a single salty drop The spinning world comes to a sudden stop And from the sky’s porcelain blue Cut out wings of a translucent hue And with parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme And a simple chanted golden rhyme To shoulder the burden of eternal bliss Take from thee from thy truest love The glorious gift of a single kiss © 2013 Rose of GondorAuthor's Note
