HelplessA Poem by Rose of GondorVoices in my head Thoughts swirling Stomach churning Blood pounding I’m helpless Utterly helpless Hidden in the dark With no will to cry out Hands bound Eyes covered Voices muffled Metal on my tongue Drowning in doubt Hope still resilient Yet hating that hope Because of fear Too many thoughts running together To be able to sleep Too afraid of destiny Too easily bent to its will Too afraid of a leap of faith Because uncertainty is doom Yet what can I do but trust my fate To this cruel and horrid world? What can I do but hope For a better place to be found? What can I do but to love and lose When my heart was meant to be broken? Heart beat fast Eyes flutter close I give myself to the darkness And scatter my thoughts to the wind © 2013 Rose of GondorAuthor's Note
