3 poem i wrote for a book report

 

Poem 1: Fire

 

She is like a fire

Dancing to an unheard song

Passion in her eyes

Passion in her entire being

 

She sings with her soul

A soul of light

A flame flickering

In the dark of the night

 

She lights up the entire world

With her bright smile

Her gentle warmth

And the flame of her passion

 

She is untouchable

Living in her own world

Passion in her eyes

Passion in her soul

 

She is like a fire

 

Poem 2: Corpus Christi Bay

 

Turquoise waves lap at the shore

Tickling the sand

As the wind sweeps past

A gentle breeze of the morning

 

The seagulls cry

As they sail in with the wind

The sun warming their backs

The land far beneath them

 

The pleasant hum of voices

Fill the beach with noise

With such different languages

Of tourists from all over the world

 

And the music

The different rhythms

And the unique styles of songs

Fill every corner of the street

 

Corpus Christi Bay

So full of life

Full of fun and full of laughter

Was where it all began

 

Poem 3: Let Her Go

 

You watched her grow

From a little girl

To the woman

She is today

 

You were there

Through all the years

You were there to dry her tears

You were there for her always

 

But now you

Must let go

She is a woman now

She must make her own choices

 

In her life

You have been like a warden

Or a wall that separates her

From the outside world

 

Now she wants to see

What the rest of the world

Has to offer

To her

 

It hurts you to know

That she isn’t a baby anymore

And you still want

To protect her

 

Let her go

That is her plea

She needs to know

So let her go

three poems that are kind of a set that I wrote instead of a book report....

wow.. so random but loved every single one of them!! they carry a heavy meaning. but preffered the fire and let her go ones.

I agree. The middle was more a filler than an actual poem because my book report needed three poems...the first and the last I put more effort into!
