Simphonee

Simphonee

A Poem by Rosauro Brillantes

Just constantly wondering if you were worth that symphony
What did you really mean to me?
If you mean sweet memories, then what of those pleasantries?
I've been lost in time far too long, already
Where it was just the two of us in bed
Do 18 months of pain equal 8 months of love in turn?
The burn of a broken heart, my fair lady
You were everything right to me
From the melting of the snow to the crunch of golden leaves
Until the moment your hand slipped out of mine
You defined loneliness
Where the cold winter froze my heart
Yet, you also managed to explain love
What a fickle thing
You're the only one I can love and hate...
So I think
Yes. You were worth that symphony

This is beautiful. Your words are woven into a cadence of love and its antithesis sorrow. A reminder of the range of the human soul, and the tales a wounded heart may weave. Well done.
