Violet

Violet

A Poem by Rosauro Brillantes

I thought of you last night
But it wasn't something I forced myself upon
You ran into my mind
And you somehow lingered until dawn
I don't even know you
Although you could say the same
You look really pretty
If only I knew your real name
I think that we're in love
Because this is what I seem to feel
And I can't tell the difference
Whether this love is fake or something real
So I kissed you last night
It is something we'd normally do
I despise my own lust
Even though I know that it's not true
You've been with me a while
Ten years is fairly long it seems
Yet all I do is wonder
Who is this girl that haunts my dreams
