The DreamA Poem by Rosauro BrillantesSomething that happened to me in jail
He looked on to the endless shore
The water coasted to his left It felt like he'd been here before But lost memories, made it feel bereft Beneath his feet he felt the sand And the soft breeze cooled his back A sailboat heeding to wind's command He continued the sandy track He strolled into the water as it waved And let it go up to his knees Trees to his right - watched how it behaved As the wind caressed the leaves The sky so blue and streaked with clouds Rays reflecting off the sea Glitter coming in the crowds Gave him warmth and inner peace A noise so shrill it pierced his ears Had interrupted his peacful dream Still in jail, he shed some tears And let out a painful scream © 2009 Rosauro BrillantesAuthor's Note
