Waiting At The Cafe

Waiting At The Cafe

A Poem by Rosauro Brillantes
"

On the day I broke up with my ex, I decided to go to the cafe early and I wrote this poem. Enjoy!

"
All the words I say will bleed
In the sun, yes I will feed
This architecture I admire
May possibly conspire
Hot chocolate to entertain
As I look down this busy lane
The piano on the wall
Reverberates throughout the mall
And sit to type away
This is my academic play
A beautiful girl walks on by
I can't resist, so I say, "Hi"
I've an hour left to go
Boy does time go slow
The smell of coffee waft
Around this caf loft
Order another drink
As she pours the rest into a sink
Another pretty lady pass
I stare and I get sass
A balloon hits the ceiling top
It hits the fan and it goes 'pop!'
More people passing by
As they go living on their lives
A little kid trips and falls
A moment later he starts to bawl
Policemen holding guns
Getting arrested is no fun
Take another bite
Of my sweet Turkish Delight
A friend sees me, so she waves
I used to go with her to raves
Today I must admit
Is as beautiful as English Lit.
Twenty minutes left to spend
For me to comprehend
On how to tell my ex
It was her, it wasn't sex
Our love was no longer bliss
I must tell her this:
"You are no longer poetry,
Just another journal entry
Of my sad and happy memories"
I just hope we don't become enemies
My waiting is done here she walks
She sits down and we begin our talk

HOLY HELL WISH ME LUCK!
