Suicide is a slap in the face to your mother and father.

Suicide is a slap in the face to your mother and father.

A Poem by poetry-kiddo alienbaba
"

Never thought I would be a counselor for troubled minds..as if I aint got enough of my own!! So many here on this site...they contemplate suicide... poems of suicidal tendency. I tell you...wait!!

"

Suicide is a slap in the face to your mother and father,

I'd slap you ten times twenty even though I'm not your brother

And then tell you...what you mean to me though you don’t give a damn,

You'd tell me I don’t know a thing about you...I'd say it’s alright ma'am!

(And slapping yourself really hurts when you know you are the problem)

To be born into this world is not a misery,

It’s another step forward towards your greater glory,

To die knowingly by taking your life is not the solution,

Have a cold shower, breathe a deep breath ...and make a new resolution.

(Learn music, sing or croak and bring your life to its rightful fruition)

You are a child and always will be one....don’t let evil thoughts trick you,

Your problems may grow but don’t let them trample and crush and choke you,

When crossing the bridge don’t for a second think of doin a ropeless bungee,

When punishing your partner by leaving forever ...you amplified the Devils glee.

(You’ll be roaming in dark astral worlds feeling frightened and very lonely)

So we can work it out babe, get your self up honey...these words seem so common,

Go and take some rest and awakening will bring out the best in you my good woman,

Brother, you too can be a father one day; someday... if you'd only just stay alive,

Mother, Father, sister, brother, aunty, uncle, granma and granpas living pride!

(You could live to be a grand old man and she'll still be a young blushing bride)

Stop fearing whatever you fear and fear itself will never come near you I promise,

Shine in your own light and wear on your fierce pride and you shall be luminous,

Hungry? I’ll feed you, thirty? I’ll quench you...with springs of eternal water,

Feeling despised? Oh please don’t be, tryin to hide? Ah please be free, do talk my daughter.

(If it’s a proposal yer lookin for id offer my services since my Ma calls me matchmaker)

You were not born to them to hang on the other side of a short rope,

And if drugs got you down I'd like to tell you you can quit that dope,

And if you have been to prison...all the more reason to live long my brother,

Don’t leave the movie halfway, we will wait till the end and go home together.

(I mean ...fade out naturally and hope our funeral day there’s pleasant weather)

Poison is for kitchen-rats though I'd spare them the agony,

Life is priceless, life just can't be measured in Gold or money,

And slitting your wrists is silly my Lily cause I cant donate you my alien-blood,

And starving to death is not so easy when you crave for burgers and lemonade!

(You aint a camel holdin water in your hump and you hate porridge, oats and marmalade)

And of all the ways to die, I never would fancy jumpin off a jagged cliff,

Your arch angels gone on strike since you didn’t pay his professional fees,

And why should he stay if you never prayed to St. Michael his top-boss?

Another one bites the dust sings dear St. Cecilia ...O what a loss O what a loss!

(While lord Yama hovers with his fancy noose and Morrison sings the blues)

Your mama got a picture of you ...two front teeth and in a Nappy,

Your papa bought you countless toys just to make you very happy,

Lonely? She comforted you, depressed? He reassured you...the Apple of their Eye,

Homeless? They sheltered you, Clothe-less? They clothed you...now don't feel shy...

(Fortunate are those that still have them alive...as some watch-over from the sky.)

Listen to me....just for a while...when infuriated...walk another garden mile,

I will hear all that you have to say...tell me your worries I'll make them mine...do smile,

We can work it out...we can shine on bright, we have and we will master our karma,

I will change your life...just as you have changed mine, it’s my duty; it’s my dharma!

(If you wanna hold your breath after all that...go ahead and meditate, be a Lama)

Shame, now i'm glad I wrote a poem instead of atempting suicide. It still bothers me today every time that thought of me jumping off a building, or going to stab myself with my parents butcher knife. However, I stumbled upon your poem, and I almost cried at the part where it said your mom has a picture of your two front teeth, and your dad buys countless toys. To be honest, I never actually thought about that.

too many times have i been a witness to this tragedy. family, friends and even lovers. this is a troubling subject and needs to be dealt with on a preemptive level, rather than an afterthought, because once the deed is done there is no going back to fix what was so terribly wrong. we, as conscientious beings, should always maintain a constant vigil to ensure that those people we know, even if we are not particularly close to them, have all the love and support we can provide. this is a profound and relevant, resonant write!

yeh
This was an extremely difficult read to get through, because it affects me personally. I hear the anger in your words and I've been stuck in that stage of the grieving process many times. I doubt that any of them were thinking of their mother, fathers, friends, etc. a desperate voice does not recognize any of these as a lifeline in that last breath. I will never understand why, but I do understand the need for 'peace' everlasting. I think if many of them had made it through just one more day, things could have been different, but those thoughts are overwhelming and debilitating and take on a life of their own, to end one's tragic saga. I often wonder, if they had to do it all again, would it be different. I guess we'll never know. This read pains me immensely although it is nicely pen'd, it's a loss that no one can fully comprehend until you have to deal with it personally. Thank you for sharing this.

I myself can speak from experience on this one. I have thought many times of ending my life or praying for some accident...but there is beauty in life through all the darkness and shadows. Not everything is bad. It sickens me to see someone with a young life be tortured so badly they feel the need to kill themselves. People suck, but there is good. Its a needle in the haystack kind of thing.

I imagine that you are the greatest of friends...it is not a misery to be alive, no matter how bad it gets, there are other choices rather than the one that ends it all.

This is beautiful. Truly. Your rhythem and rhyme really flowed. The words you used were pleasing, vibrent, compassionate, and compelling. I really liked the parenthisized ending to each stanza that threw in a silly rhyme- it really did a lot to hold the whole thing together.
I loved the way you were able to get inside my head with these words.
Fantastic Work.

I felt like these lines were meant for me, they jumped off the page and were in loud bold screams as I read....Whew. You have such a way of creating images and stories in my mind when I read you, I enjoy that :) Brilliant my friend, just freakin' brilliant. XXX

It's so sad. Suicide. I know more than a few people who've done it. This was a really great read. Full of truth.
