Lazy SunA Poem by Ron SandersMan, I've found the master key! Balls and beauty.Lazy Sun
Once my mind was bound for Hell, a victim of this vile world--don’t play aloof; you know it well. I’m sure you too have toed the line. You’ve found escape, well, this is mine: I’m living proof. Alone, I came to common ground, none knew my name, too late I found those bully-boys could be so inhumane. They called my bluff, they roughed me up. They robbed me blind, but all the same, they'll never find what's hidden in my mind. Nothing worth their while, I guess. It’s just a dream, a secret isle, where no one else can stretch and lull. A rolling tide, a purling stream. A place where only I can be, where mellow rays find solely me, where waves beat time, where palm trees rock, where wind is warm and sand is soft, where I can flip you fuckers off-- I’m free! I've got a lazy sun, shining down on a warm, private sea.
Here bluebells chime in perfect time, here Monarchs surf the breeze. Bees tease trees. And where the birds and turtles play, sandpipers pipe the days away. Memories sting, but never last, here nought remains of crises past. Nary a cloud obscures my sky, this world can never blow my high, but man, oh man, what choice had I, but take my faking case and flake away? I've picked the lock, I've gamed the day. Man, I've found the master key! I’ve made this place my holy space. This lame-a*s sucking world can be the lame-a*s sucking world it wants to be. No one’s gonna take my dream from me. I’m free! I've got a lazy sun, shining down on a warm, private sea. © 2024 Ron Sanders |
