I Am From

I Am From

A Poem by Ronald J Chapman

I Am From

I am from heaven,

I am from Dorothy and James

tree branches.

I am from cloth diapers,

I am from baby oil

Warm milk at bedtime.

I am from roses,

growing in the garden,

The weeping willow tree, in the back yard.

I am from my kitty Fluffy.

He would chase me around all day.

I am from the school playground. When I ran faster than the wind.

I am from chocolate fudge,

I am from peanut butter kisses and cookies,

I am from shrimp cocktail.

I am from the church choir

Where. I would sing every Sunday.

Until my voice, broke.

I am from riding my bike,

across town.

I am from cutting lawns.

I am from reading books.

I am from watching television shows.

I am from dreams of traveling to the stars.

I wonder what I will do with my life.

I pretend I travel the world.

I try to paint.

I try to help people any way I can.

I am a broken heart

God took my angel away.

I am from me...
